Ali Azim is the founder and managing partner of Courtside Equity Partners (CEP). Before establishing CEP, Ali served as the North American Head of Goldman Sachs’ Global Business Services Group. In this role, he managed coverage for public, private, and family-owned companies across the Business, Consumer, and Industrial services sectors.
During his career, Ali completed over 300 transactions with a total deal value exceeding $200 billion. His extensive sector experience spans commercial and residential services, human capital management, legal and compliance services, consulting and CFO services, as well as inspection, testing, utility, and telecom services.
With a 25-year focus on the services sector, Ali possesses deep insights into business models and industry dynamics and has cultivated relationships with hundreds of public and private companies, senior executives, board members, private equity firms, and professional advisors.
Outside of work, Ali used to enjoy playing golf, riding his Canyon Aeroad CF SLX bike, watching Indiana Basketball, and spending time with his wife. However, he traded all of that in to become the dedicated chauffeur for his 12-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, shuttling them to their numerous basketball, baseball, golf, softball, and tennis matches. Along the way, he has become quite the expert in the finest fast food joints, hotels with swimming pools, and gas station bathrooms across the country. He also has a painfully deep understanding of just how expensive travel sports can be.
Ali earned a BS in Finance from Indiana University in 2000 and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of The Heartland Alliance.
